Jolicloud will be adding support for 1080p HD video playback on netbooks running on Intel Pine Trail platform. The format supported includes DivX, Xvid, and most other MPEG4-based codecs, except for H.264. It will not require any external processor such as the Broadcom Crystal HD video accelerator to play the 1080p HD video.
According to Jolicloud founder, Tariq Krim, the update will be released later this week or early next week. Check out the video below for the demonstration of 1080p HD video playback on Samsung N220 running Jolicloud:
