Unboxing And First Impression On The New Dell Mini 10

Jason from DigitalHomeThought has done an unboxing and first impression video on the new Dell Inspiron Mini 10 netbook that comes with Intel Atom N450 processor.

The new Dell Mini 10 has got a new design making it looks more stylish. You will see Jason comparing the Dell Mini 10 with HP Mini 1000 in the video to show you the body design difference — and the new Dell Mini 10 looks more like the Seashell design in most Asus netbooks. The lid is glossy which is a fingerprint magnet. Also, there’s no access panel at the bottom of the netbook for RAM upgrade.

In terms of performance, Jason has benchmark the Dell Mini 10 using the performance information tool in Windows 7 and get the following results:

Processor – 2.3
RAM – 4.5
Graphic – 3.1
Gaming graphic – 3.0
Primary Hard Disk – 5.6

Compared to the MSI Wind U100 netbook, the performance score of the Dell Mini 10 is slightly better (Processor 2.2, Graphic 2.1, Gaming 2.0, HDD 5.3 on MSI Wind U100), but as you can see there’s no huge performance improvement with the Intel Atom N450 processor. The improvement that you will be getting from the N450 processor though, is a longer battery life.
