Toshiba Announced NB255 Netbook, Updated NB305 Specs And Price

Like many other netbook manufacturers do, Toshiba has updated their NB305 netbook from the Atom N450 processor to the DDR3 compatible Atom N455 CPU. The company has also lower the price of the NB305 from $399 to $379.

Toshiba also announced a new budget friendly netbook called the Mini NB255 that cost only $299 and comes with the following specs:

  • 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 resolution screen
  • Intel Atom N455 CPU
  • 1GB of DDR3 RAM
  • 250GB hard drive
  • 3-cell or 6-cell battery

While the NB255 has a specs that looks similar to the NB305, there are a few differences that distinguish the 2 models:

  • The NB255 does not have the 3D accelerometer to protect the hard drive
  • The NB255 does not have a sleep and charge USB port
  • The NB255 uses a less expensive plastic lid and keyboard
