Asus has also updated this new model with a chiclet style keyboard which is found to be easier and more comfortable to type on. Asus Eee PC 1001P-PU17 is one of the new Pine Trail netbook from Asus. The main difference between this model and the 1005PE is:

  • 1005PE has a glossy screen while 1001P has a matte screen
  • 1005PE can have up to 14 hours of battery life (with best configuration) while 1001P have up to 11 hours
  • 1005PE supports 802.11 b/g/n wireless while 1001P supports only 802.11 b/g
