Asus CEO Jerry Shen Talks About Netbook, SmartBook, Tablet, and and Windows Phone 7

Gigabyte M1000 And Q1000C Netbook On CeBIT 2010

Gigabyte unveils 2 new netbooks on CeBIT 2010 called the M1000 and Q1000C. Below are the hands-on videos on both netbooks by netbooknews.com.

The Gigabyte M1000 is the successor to the BookTop M1022 series. It has a chiclet style keyboard and comes with a docking station — something that you don’t see on most netbooks. Sascha mentioned in the video that the M1000 has a high-definition 1366 x 768 display, but over at the product page of M1000, it says that the display has 1024×600 resolution. There might be more than 1 configuration available for this netbook.. we will find out more later when it’s released.

Another new netbook model from Gigabyte is the Q1000C. It has a pretty standard netbook specs with Intel Atom N450 processor, 1GB RAM and 160GB HDD. It has a pretty small touchpad but the keyboard is said to be one of the best compared to other models of Gigabyte netbooks. Check out the product page for the full specification.

Samsung N150 For Kids


Samsung is introducing a new N150 netbook model for kids on CeBIT 2010. It features a a spill resistant seal, keyboards with flat keys and spacing optimized for children’s fingers, and “specially coated” anti-glare display “protects children’s eyes”. Samsung has also teamed up with Microsoft and pre-installed the N150 for kids with customized Windows 7 that comes with applications for kids, and security features for parents. This is the second netbook for kids that we have seen on CeBIT 2010 after the Asus Eee PC 1001PQ.

Asus Eee PC 1201PN With Nvidia ION 2 Graphics Benchmarked At CeBIT 2010

Asus added a new model to the Eee PC 1201 series of netbook called the Eee PC 1201PN. It will comes with Intel Atom N450 processor, and Nvidia ION 2 graphics. The detail specification for this netbook is as following:

  • 12.1” 1366 x 768 display
  • Atom N450 processor
  • Nvidia ION graphics (“ION 2” still branded as ION)
  • 1GB RAM
  • 160GB HDD + 500GB online storage
  • 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth 2.1+EDR
  • 6-cell 63Wh Li-ion battery (battery life not announced)
  • HDMI out

Also, Notebook Italia has benchmarked the Eee PC 1201PN netbook and it scored 2013 from 3DMark06, which is higher than other netbooks with first generation ION graphics (Eee PC 1201N scored 1583, while the HP Mini 311 scored 1311). Check out the video below:

ASUS Eee PC 1018P and 1016P Hands-On

After looking at the Eee PC 1005P, here’s another video from engadget showing us another 2 new models from Asus: the Eee PC 1018P and Eee PC 1016P. Both netbooks have fantastic new design with brushed metal lids and palm rests. Also, with the flush battery they are both seriously slim and light.

According to the placards, the specification for both netbooks will as following.

Asus Eee PC 1015P Hands On

We have heard about the Asus Eee PC 1015P and a few other new netbook models from Asus earlier, and now we have the chance to take a closer look at them, thanks to Sascha from Netbooknews.com. Below is a video of Sascha checking out the Asus Eee PC 1015P / 1015PE at CeBIT 2010. Overall the netbook looks pretty similar to the Eee PC 1005PE, only that Asus has changed the surface and display of this new model with matte finish instead of glossy.

Asus Eee PC 1005PR = Asus Eee PC 1005PE + 1366 by 768 HD Display

Another netbook revealed at CeBIT 2010 is the Asus Eee PC 1005PR, which is actually the Eee PC 1005PE with 1366 x 768 HD Display. Other specs of this netbook is similar to the 1005PE: 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 CPU with GMA 3150 graphics, 1GB of RAM, and 250GB hard drive, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, and a 6 cell battery. No words on its pricing and availability.

Gigabyte T1000 Tablet Netbook At CeBIT 2010

Gigabyte reveals a new tablet style netbook called T1000 at CeBIT 2010. It will be available in 2 models:

  • the T1000X model that comes with an Atom N450 processor, single touch resistive display, 4-cell battery and Windows 7 Starter
  • the T1000P model that comes with an Atom N470 processor, multi-touch display and a 6-cell battery. Not sure about the OS for this model

The following is the video of jkk checking out the Gigabyte T1000 Tablet Netbook At CeBIT 2010. According to him, the touchscreen sensitivity of this netbook is better than Asus’ tablet netbook.

ASUS Eee PC 1001PQ – Netbook For Kids

CeBIT 2010 starts today, and we are seeing a bunch of new netbooks being revealed.  The first one is the Asus Eee PC 1001PQ designed specially for kids. JkkMobile has a video showing us the 1001PQ netbook that comes with several design — check out the video below.

In terms of specification, it’s similar to the Eee PC 1001P: 10.1” 1024 x 600 display (glossy), Atom N450 processor, GMA 3150 graphics, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, 6-cell 48Wh battery (11 hours battery life). The difference though, is that the Eee PC 1001PQ will come with customized Windows desktop and kid centric apps that will draw the kids right in. It also features kids-friendly browser with parental control access.
