Toshiba Mini NB305-N310

The Toshiba Mini NB305 is the second generation of netbook from the company. Not only it has all the great features from the first generation NB205 (ergonomic keyboard, large touchpad, and excellent battery life), it also comes with improved an design (lighter and thinner), and a better speaker which is one of the biggest complain on the NB205.

There are 2 model available: NB305-N310 and NB305-N410. The model that we are recommending in this model is the NB305-N310. Check out one of our previous post, NB305-310 vs NB305-410, for the detailed explanation of the difference between them. If you don’t need a large storage and don’t mind staying with Windows XP, we strongly recommend the the NB305-N310 which is a cheaper model. Check out all the customer reviews here and you will know why. ;) But if you want a netbook with larger storage and running Windows 7, consider NB305-N410 which cost around $50 more.

Toshiba NB305-N410

Toshiba Mini NB305 is the updated version of the NB205, one of the most popular netbook in 2009.

The new model Toshiba Mini NB305-N410 comes with a few improvements compared to its predecessor. First, it comes with the new Pine Trail platform and Intel Atom N450 processor which gives it a longer battery life (11 hours according to Toshiba). Second, the NB305 has an improved design where the battery no longer sticks out from the back like the NB205 does. And finally, the NB305 is a slightly lighter at only 2.6 pounds.

This particular model, NB305-N410WH, comes with frost white color. It’s also available in Royal Blue, Java Brown, and Onyx Black. Note however that the Onyx black version comes with slightly different specs and is slightly cheaper than this and other model with different colors.

Toshiba Mini NB205-N230 is the best value netbook among all NB205 netbooks. It comes with Microsoft latest Operating System, Windows 7, 250GB hard drive, and 6-cell battery which provides up to 9 hours of battery life.

There are however 2 limitation on this netbook: it doesn’t have bluetooth; and it’s available only in one color – Onyx Black. If you couldn’t deal with any of these limitation, then you may choose to go for the more expensive model, NB205-N330, which solve these 2 limitations altogether.

Toshiba Mini NB205-N330

Toshiba recently announced an update to its Mini NB205 netbook line. The new Toshiba NB205-N330 will comes with Windows 7 Starter Edition instead of Windows XP, while the hard drive capacity will increase from 160GB to 250GB. The rest of the specs are similar to the original NB205-N310 model — still having the same excellent keyboard, wide touchpad, and high capacity battery that provide up to 9 hours of battery life (find out more from the Toshiba Mini NB205 review here).

The Toshiba Mini NB205-N330 is now available on Amazon for $419.99.

Toshiba Mini NB205-N31X

The Toshiba NB205 comes in 2 configuration. While the basic version listed on top is extremely popular due to lower price, it comes with only Black Onyx casing, a slightly different keyboard design, and without Bluetooth feature.

These models here (NB205-N310 to N131), although are higher in price, they come in 4 color option: blue, white, brown, and pink. These models have a chicklet stlye keyboard, and do have Bluetooth feature. They are currently available in Amazon.com for $399.99. Each color comes with a different model name:
