Well this is not exactly a fair comparison but just to give you an idea of the booting time for both Windows 7 and Jolicloud on netbooks.
Windows 7 booting time on an Acer Aspire One D250: 33 seconds.

Yup, that’s right.. Windows 7 does shorten the battery life of netbooks. This has been proven by a few tests done by Laptop Magazine, Liliputing, and jkOntherun respectively.
In Laptop Magazine’s test, they make use of 3 of the most popular netbooks on the market: the Toshiba Mini NB205, Asus Eee PC 1008HA, and HP Mini 311 netbook, and compare the battery life of each netbooks running on Windows XP and Windows 7. The result indicates that on average netbooks get 47 minutes less battery life on Windows 7. Liliputing and jkOnTheRun have run their own tests which invariably reached the same conclusion. Additionally, jkOntherun notes that “using Windows 7 with all of the advanced Aero features off not only makes your netbook look like a Windows 95 beta, it doesn’t help run time in any noticeable way”.
Hopefully, future driver updates and Microsoft’s fine-tuning on Windows 7 will yield longer runtimes on netbook.
The Flybook V5 is a pretty unique convertible touch screen machine. It comes with 8.9-inch touch screen display, Intel Core 2 Duo ULV U7600 1.2GHz Processor, 80GB hard drive, supports up to 4GB of RAM, and has a user removable battery that should run between 4 and 5 hours. This is a rather special combination if compared to other convertible touch screen netbook such as the Asus Eee PC T91MT. What’s even more unique about the Flybook V5 is that instead of a touchpad, it has a small pointing stick near the top right corner of the keyboard and a series of buttons you can press above the keyboard to perform some actions.
And as you may have guessed, the price for the Flybook V5 is not cheap at all. You may get a unit of this machine with 2GB RAM on Amazon with 999.97

With the release of Windows 7, many netbooks now have 250GB hard drive with Windows 7 pre-installed. Sony VAIO W is one those netbooks. Not only Sony has upgraded the VAIO W netbook to 250GB hard drive and Windows 7 OS, but it also upgraded the original 3-cell battery to a 6-cell. This brings the battery life of the Sony VAIO W to 7 hours which is a great improvement compared to its previous version (2.5 hours).

This is a demonstration of using Asus Eee PC 1005HA combined with Windows 7 to play both 720p and 1080p videos. The results are as expected.. 720p videos run smoothly, while the 1080p video is lagging.. which is acceptable since netbooks are not meant for playing HD videos.
As mentioned in the video, you can still play 1080p videos smoothly on the Eee PC 1005HA by upgrading its RAM and overclocking it to 2GHz. Or the other alternative is go for the HP Mini 311 which features NVIDIA ION graphics.
